C.L.I stands for "Christian Leadership Institute" 'Bringing the Bible to the people’C.L.I. is a training school for Pastors and Church leaders. Its main goal is equipping those leaders who, through various circumstances, may not have access to formal Bible School training.
It is designed to give ‘down-to-earth’, practical and Biblical training, which is directly applicable to local Church ministry.Four main areas of focus:
EVANGELISM Covering the Who, What, Why and How of evangelism to motivate and mobilise people in the local Church.
LEADERSHIP Covering qualifications, what it means to be a ‘spiritual leader’ and the task of leading.
CHURCH DEVELOPMENT Training in the principles of planting and/or growing Churches, which are strong in the Word of God.
BIBLE DOCTRINE Studies on the central doctrines of Christianity.How does it work? C.L.I. schools are held in Zimbabwe (Bulawayo, Plumtree, Kwe Kwe, Redcliff and Victoria Falls) and South Africa (East London & Roodepoort). Students are offered between 12 – 18 hours of lectures, depending on the venue. The schools are usually held in centrally located venues.Lectures are given by suitably qualified Pastors, Church leaders and instructors.Students need to complete four modules of study under each area of focus, i.e.:
LEADERSHIP, CHURCH DEVELOPMENT, EVANGELISM & BIBLE DOCTRINE.
On completion of the required number of modules for each focus, students qualify to graduate and receive a certificate from ‘The European Theological Seminary.
